Design strategies

  • Refresh jeans, jackets, skirts and shirting with suiting qualities and patterns to tap into the influence of Work Experience and Office wear aesthetics.

Fibre and yarn

  • Regenerative, BCI, GOTS-certified and GRS-certified cotton, hemp and organic linen. Blend with wool for durability and warmth or GOTS-certified silk or cupro for an elevated handfeel.

Construction and finish

  • Elevate denim through jacquards and dobby or slubbed weaves. Focus on micro and mid-scale patterns including houndstooth, pinstripes and herringbone stripes. Explore fabric-blocked Material Mixes, with denim Spliced with classic tailoring fabrics. Use twill constructions in weights ranging from 4-12oz.

Atypical Basics

Our Ancient Escapes story evolves for A/W, using simple stitched details to refresh denim basics.

Design strategies

  • Upgrade everyday stitched denim details with colourful threads, using off-beat doodles and motifs to add a fun and playful element to core staples.

Fibre and yarn

  • Use regenerative, BCI, GOTS-certified organic or recycled cotton blends, traceable linen and deadstock yarns.

Construction and finish

  • Create low-key mono-material embellishment with commercial appeal via colourful stitched reinforcements, doodles and details

  • Focus on unexpected, atypical and hidden placements, as well as belt loops and back pockets. Mix small, unobtrusive details with larger-scale stitched placement designs.

  • Work with dissolvable threads such as Resortecs to aid end-of-life disassembly. Use traditional twill weave 3/1 constructions in light to mid-weight bases of 8–12oz.
