Retail Analysis: Women's Denim Trends Update

With online scrapping data from January 2026, 2,998 SKUs are counted across 18 brands from High price point to mass market.


Straight and Wide-leg styles are gaining popularity and have become the dominant fits for women's denim, occupying 75% of the online market assortment.


Shorts and skirts remain a fashion seasonal items, thriving in Spring/Summer.


To put into a more visualized trend comparison, we divided online assortment of mass market into premium lines and denim brands, showcasing the percentage share of each style category. Wide leg is the dominant trend across both segments — expected to define the 2026 silhouette, while short and skirt mostly concentrated in the denim brand segment, tied to casual or seasonal lines.


This chart illustrates a shift in women’s denim from body-hugging shapes toward comfort-driven, modern silhouettes, with mainstream brands leading in SKU diversity and volume, while premium labels emphasize trend-focused designs and refined fit differentiation.


In short, “Wide Leg” is the emerging hero fit, and Levi’s, AEO, and ANF show the largest overall denim presence within the women’s market segment.
