Fluffy Texture
Bring super-tactility to denim through brushed, suede-like corded and haptic tufted constructions.
Fibre and yarn: source RWS- and ZQ-certified wool and cashmere, GOTS-certified and recycled cotton and GRS-certified polyester. Incorporate deadstock fibres and fabrics.
Colour and finish: design in colour contrasts with indigo and undyed colour.
Construction and weight: create constructions that enhance texture like jacquards, cords and twills. Weights range from 9–13oz.
Defined Lines
Play with contrasting tones, creating stripes through pattern and weave construction.
Fibre and yarn: look for cotton-based fabrics, opting for GOTS-certified, recycled and regenerative. For lightness, blend with traceable viscose and GRS-certified polyester.
Colour and finish: combine white and ecru tones with indigo blues, playing with different washes to create a worn-in, vintage feel.
Construction and weight: for a striped effect, focus on authentic workwear stripes and herringbone constructions. Range from shirting to bottom weights of 5-11oz.
Nepped and Slubbed
Enhance the natural characteristics of denim with yarn-interest nep and slub yarns with Subtle Texture.
Fibre and yarn: add natural nep or slub yarns in GOTS-certified and recycled cotton, traceable linen and hemp, and even silk.
Colour and finish: create more grainy looks with uneven melangé yarns, contrasting indigo with undyed white or adding colours in the weft.
Construction and weight: use classic twills, allowing subtle yarn texture to come through. Weights range from 6-12oz.
